Snuba-ing at Molokini!

With a signed liability form & short SNUBA safety briefing, you can experience SNUBA at Molokini. How is it different from snorkeling? Well, you'll be closer to the reef and fish longer than you would snorkeling and free-diving down. You are literally swimming with the fishes. Our Snuba Guides will show you different types of fish, reef, underwater lava formations, etc,...

 Been to Molokini already? Trilogy offers other trips & locations. We have trips running to Lanai and Honolua Bay that include SNUBA as an optional upgrade. If you want to try SNUBA but do not have the whole day to spare, we have West Maui Snuba running for the time-conscious visitors.

Wanna try SNUBA but don't have a whole day to spare? We have got you covered! Check out Trilogy Excursion's West Side/South Side Snuba. Two choices! If you are staying on the south side (Kihei, Wailea, Makena), our Discover South Side Snuba is running Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons. If you are staying on the west side (Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kahana, Napili), our Discover West Maui Snuba is running Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons.

This is a great three hour introduction to SNUBA for kids 8-years old and older. If you are still not sure, try SNUBA in the pool at Kaanapali Beach Hotel before going out of our boats.

What's a Blue'aina?

Blue'aina literally means 'blue land or earth.' Besides the SCUBA and SNUBA diving offered at Trilogy Excursions, we also giveth back to the community and the land. We plan reef and beach clean-ups monthly which is coined the Trilogy Blue'aina Campaign. If you are a resident here or a visitor and would like to help this cause, contact Cynthia Matzke, our Director of Blue'aina.

This is Kyle's happy SNUBA class. The sun is bright, the water calm, and they just saw humpback whales breaching for 10 minutes. The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle

Aloha, we are the threatened Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, Chelonia mydas, living at Turtle Town. Our flesh is green hence the name green sea turtle. We used to be killed for our skins, calipee, meat, and shells but they cannot hunt for us in Hawaii anymore. We are protected. We like to graze on algae though we like the occasional jellyfish and octopus. If we are not eating, we are napping or resting. Otherwise, we are cruising for food and gulping air. We especially like to cruise the swim throughs at Turtle Town. The lava tube gives us protection and a place to wedge ourselves in. And it's not too far to the surface. The more active we are, the more we need to get to the surface for air. If we are resting, we can slow our metabolism down for hours. At Turtle Town, we see many pasty white legs in the mornings. They all seem to stare at us or have clicking devices. It's kind of entertaining for us. This is why I like it best at Turtle Town in Maui. Come visit when you get a chance!

'Tis the season...

Along with diving, we sometimes have close encounters with Humpback Whales, Megaptera novaeangliae. It  means "Big wings of New England." Here are a couple of pictures taken while coming back from one of our trips to Molokini. Please click here for more info on our whales. Whale season is from November to April.

 What a fantabulous day to SNUBA with Jim, Gayla, Dhalia, Dan & Jody in Molokini Crater and Turtle Town! Even with a tentative Gayla and Jody, they turn out to be a complete natural in the water. Jim and Dan had no fear in the water either. 

And with fish for parents, my little Dhalia was amazing underwater. She might be the next Sylvia Earle! Watch out! I think the next step for all is to get SCUBA certified! 

Squid and the Driessen family.

This squid was checking out our prop. We dropped an underwater camera into the water and started shooting before it swam away. It's the first squid sighting in Molokin for all of usi!!  Exciting. Our co-worker's family was onboard too! Of course they tried SCUBA for the first time. Do you think they liked it judging by the photos? 

Instructor Jenny does a quick briefing about the effects of scuba diving on your body as the Driessen family listens attentively. They are such good students!

Good Morning Ma'alaea Harbor!

As blurry eyed and caffeine deprived guests sign their waivers in the dark, they are greeted with a beautiful sunrise over Haleakala.  The sky is on F-I-R-E.
